In a groundbreaking collaboration, Galleri Schaeffers Gate 5, ArtAreas.io, and Oslo Art Park are thrilled to present “The Words Open,” an original artwork by acclaimed artist Irene Christensen. This unique piece, crafted in the form of a concertina book, is available in various physical print and digital NFT formats. The digital NFTs can be explored in detail at ArtAreas.io.

This exhibition marks a significant event coinciding with the official opening of OSLO ART PARK, which launched the day before, on Saturday, May 25. The park, an innovative space blending augmented reality with physical environments, covers large parts of Oslo with its center in the Grünerløkka district. It features theme parks offering art and cultural experiences from national and international artists, with a strong focus on local initiatives.

Visitors to Galleri Schaeffers Gate 5 can view additional concertina books and other artworks by Irene Christensen, alongside selected pieces by renowned Norwegian artist Grete Marstein.

ArtAreas.io, an art technology company, is dedicated to connecting physical art with digital experiences. This partnership with OSLO ART PARK (OSLO KUNSTPARK) introduces a new era of art interaction, allowing visitors to engage with digital art through augmented reality. The virtual theme parks are situated in existing parks and green areas, accessible only when visitors are physically present, ensuring an immersive and site-specific experience.

Oslo Art Park aims to be a hub for innovative digital and virtual art projects. Plans are underway to establish a physical contact point in Grünerløkka for creative forces in the digital and virtual art spheres.
