It’s because NFTs are a way for digital artists to sign and number their artwork. They also act as a certificate of authenticity.
The NFT lets you know that a particular piece of art comes from a particular person or place, making it unique and limited.
In the same way that a limited edition print is physically unique and limited, and of greater value than say a poster. An NFT is digitally unique and limited, and is of greater value than a regular image file.
This ability to create signed and numbered NFTs has changed the digital art world and made it possible to have the digital equivalent of a limited edition print, or original work of art available online.
As a result, NFT art sales are something that we’ve seen take off tremendously over just the last year.
